End of another year. Time surely flies. Everything is moving so fast that everything around me is changing, and the sad thing is even people are changing. :(
2009 – What a year! Dawn of 2009 got me a job and the dusk is leaving me unemployed – well for now. Wondering why? Hmmm… Because my company is closing, Kind of like, going into hibernation till it recovers from recession.
So today, on my last day here, I am writing my last blog about PT. Kind of like a pensieve to memories in PT. OOPS! I guess I have to explain what a pensieve is “A Pensieve is a stone receptacle used to store and review memories” There, that is a pensieve. :)
Back to my memories – I will always remember the first time I had to search for my boss’s home to attend the interview. The roads were so confusing. My first day of work – December 4th 2008 - I was expecting an elderly lady to be my colleague, but it turned out to be a girl like me, dare I say, Just like me. Swathi. May be because we were the only two people in the company or maybe we just liked each other’s enthusiasm to learn and work, we became close. And the friendship remains till today :) Next our first project, it was just 20 lines of code and yet we took a month to complete it. LOL. Next, I became a workaholic. I have spent up to 12 hours in this office. Will never forget those days.
And some of the things like,
• The day my classmate became my second colleague - Vaish
• The day I received my first call from the client – Man! I was so nervous.
• My first team member – again my another classmate – Sumana
• The day Swathi fell from her chair. It was hilarious.LOL. Two of the five legs of the rotating chair were broken.
• The day Swathi left – I had a minor operation [leg]. I couldn’t walk and I was coming to office with daddy. On her last working day – I stood near the gate, with the bandage in my leg and said a horrible broken bye and jumped into the car and went away. :(
• Days when I have been alone at office.
• The way I have abused/scolded my boss.
• The way he has abused/scolded me.
• Our office balcony.
• Our first “team” lunch.
• The day I received my appraisal letter.
• The day I was locked up by mistake in the office. – First it was hilarious then it became irritating. I had to wait for such a long time for somebody to come and open the locks for me.
• The movies which I have watched at office. The tension of being caught.
• Then playing Farmville, Mafia wars, café world etc, etc, etc games in facebook.
• Some of the GTalk chats that I had.

All in all, I had a great time here. True, the last month has been very frustrating. Yet, I learned a lot here. I enjoyed a lot. My first company and I’m emotionally attached to it. :)
2009 has been the most unexpected year. Who thought my first company would close down and I would lose my job and not just job, I am about to lose people too. :( It’s another long story, may be, some other time. If I feel up to it.
So now waiting for start of another year, waiting for new things, new job, etc. And this time my resolution is ready (You will hear about it later). And I am happy to say, I have followed my 2008’s resolution for 2 years, and I continue to follow it.
