Nothing much...

Hello everybody,

No posts for a long time, I missed writing here :( I had nothing to say all these days, so dint write… As I was free, I thought I would write many articles… but I had nothing to say… I thought I would write about my cracker free, environmental friendly deevali, but I thought many people are doing that whats so great about that… right???

So you might be thinking why I am writing now? Because I do have something to say now, very big for me, I GOT A JOB :) at the world’s smallest company which is starting on December 4th. Even though the company is very very chota, I don’t care, you want to know why? Coz in this IT slowdown even getting a housekeeping job in a company is impossible, and I got in as a "Web Application Developer" :) I am thank full for that… Don’t you think so???

Anyways the company’s name is Priyadarshini Technologies, It is in Mysore only. Even though I am a die hard fan of Java, I am going to be a .Net Developer:(, but that is also ok, even .Net is good. And I will pick it up. .Net is completely new to me, it was there in the syllabus, but as we all know, syllabus doesn’t cover much. And we do study in the exam point of view, which doesn’t help much. So now I have to open my dust covered .Net textbook and start learning something…

Apart from this I have nothing much to say... As soon I find something to say, I will come here :) I like blogging even though I don’t do much. Till that time, Chao.

My job of 30 days!!!

Hello… Long time right… Was a bit busy with life…

Hmmm… What I want to tell here is, as my title suggests, my job of 30 days.

Wondering why is it only 30 days???

Well that has a long story behind it… and here it starts.

Before I start, I want you to be acquainted with the characters, Just because I have to give names to them, I am naming them Voice 1, Voice 2 and I.

Scene 1: College -> Celebrating

I: Yeh gals, Congratulations to us, WE finished our graduation. We are engineers now.

Voice 1: Even I am excited, we can go work, have fun, buy anything, blah blah blah…

Voive 2: I really don’t understand why you two are so happy, I am really sad. We just finished the golden age of our lives. How can you celebrate?

Voice 1: Don’t listen to her, She is always a set back in all our plans.

I: Yeh, you are right.

Scene 2: IT finishing school -> Applying for a job as an associate trainer.

Voice 2: This isn’t what we want to do. It’s a teaching job; for god’s sake don’t get in. We can’t teach. We are horrible at it.

I: But I need a job. It’s urgent.

Voice 1: Yeh you are right. We all need jobs. What’s wrong with this job?

Voice 2: This is not the right job. We can never teach you will be spoiling the student’s life.

I: We can always leave the job if nothing is right. That won’t be a problem. Will it be a problem? No na…

Voice 1: Of course not!

Voice 2: What ever.

Scene 3: IT finishing school -> HR explaining about the bond.

Voice 1: You think he is really serious about the bond? We are in trouble now. That too for a year? No Ways.

Voice 2: Told you! This place will always be a problem for us.

I: Gals! Please shut your mouth I can’t hear him.

I: I think 1 year is too much, Lets reduce it to 6 months.

[Just for us, the HR reduces the bond period for 6 months]

Voice 2: Why the hell did you do that?

Voice 1: Awesome!!! We have a job for 6 months. Yupeeeeeeeee

Voice 2: If we join, it’s gonna be a problem, Listen to me gals. It’s not good.

I: Shut up you two. We are working that’s it. Case Closed.

Scene 4: Last-day [As we dint sign the bond]

I: Don’t know whether I am happy or not.

Voice 1: I still think we should sign; it’s a matter of 6 months. We can do it.

Voice 2: What ever happens, happens for good. I really think it’s high time that we come out.

Voice 1: What are you out of your mind? We might not get jobs for weeks, months… Just sign the bond.

But all of us came out, as we dint sign the bond. With lots of confusion. We worked there for 30 days! [That explains the title right]

Now, let me tell you who voice 1 & 2 are. They are the voices inside my head. You have just seen 4 scenes, with few sentences. But these people are always there in my head & Esp. at these situations, they become active. There conversation is like a tennis match. From this side to that. Almost everybody has these people inside their heads. But we should always be firm, don’t give in for pressure.

That job was not meant for me. I am born to be a software developer, and will do that, not teaching in some institution.

August 18th to September 17th, these were my exact 30 days there. I have gained enormous amount of knowledge, but still not my kinda work. So from now on, Software companies, keep your eyes open I am coming :)

The only message I want to convey through this article is, we will encounter situations which are similar to this. But think straight. Don’t be like us. Be patient, your job will be done. :)

Choti muh badi baath. But still wanted to share.

Hope you understood what I was trying to say. As I am not a good teacher, I should ask this question ;)

See you in my next post. Till then Chao…

Packed Games

Hello everybody!!!

Games... Doesn't it sound fascinating? It does...

What type of games do we usually remember when I say games??? Play stations? Online gaming? cricket? Tennis? Football? To some us it is... it will be chess, carom, cards etc etc etc... All modern games... Right???

Well my article doesn't talk about them... I want to introduce some new (but actually old) games today...

Hmmm... heard of ಚಿಂಣಿ ಧನ್ಡ್ಲು (Chinni Daandlu) , ಅಲ್ಗುಳಿ ಮನೆ (Alguli Mane), ಗೋಲಿ ಆಟ (Goli Aata), ಚೌಕ ಭಾರ (Chowka Bhara), ಕೈ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಾಶಿ (Kai mele kashi), ಲಗೋರಿ (Lagori), ಪಗಡೆ (Pagade) ???

These are some of the packed up games... Some of us have never even heard of these games, so playing is out of the question...

These games might look easy, but each and every game require smartness, common sense, sharpness, while playing these, you should always be aware of everybody's move, you gotta be attentive. There was a reason for playing these games in the old days, these games make your mind sharp and at the same time you can feel relaxed and have a lot of fun. In olden days people never used to study as much as we do but still we all know that they are more intelligent than us. And this is the reason.

Hmm I think you are thinking why I am talking about these… right???

Well few days back some people had come to my place. And they insisted on playing some of these games with our family. It was an awesome day. We all enjoyed a lot. Laughed like never before. It was fun. So i thought i would just share with the whole world.

Simple!!!

And before I close my article I just wanna say... "Hey! Try some of these games its fun"

P.S: I know i have made mistakes while spelling the games in kannada. So plzzzzz adjust!!!

With these memories I will end my long, very long article…

Digging for survival

Hmmm... You cannot exactly call it digging for survival but it was digging for saving our prized articles. To explain it better let me tell you what happened…

A few days back it was raining heavily. First it was wonderful to watch, then it became too fierce, then water started filling in front of our house. That’s not uncommon actually but this time there was a small glitch – the drainage system was blocked. It is filled with mud from the park which is in front of our house. It was never removed by the Mysore municipal co-operation, even when we requested them to remove it.

I guess you can pretty much imagine the situation - right? Anyways back to the story – Me and my brother were standing and watching the raising level of water, feeling scared that the water might come inside. And to add to our problems even the park started to overflow which also is not uncommon. But this time there was no place for that water to go, so guess what? Even that water started to come towards our house. Now the water level really started to rise, we had no idea (Till then) how to prevent the mini Tsunami. We even tried calling the MNC but no response. So it was upto us to do something. This is when we had a brain wave; we thought we would clear the drainage system so that to some extent the level of the water could come down.

So in the heavy rain, we started towards the drainage system with spades. Started making path for the rain water and the park water to go in. It almost took us half an hour in the rain to do it. We were SUCCESSFUL. Atlast the water was directed elsewhere.

Happy with ourselves and our work we came in saying AACHU!!!

My trip to the skies... :)

WOW!!! Words simply can't express the experience that I had... I am not saying that we had the best of the facilities, On the contrary we had one of the horrible transport ever…

This summer surprisingly it’s raining. The trip was actually meant to be arranged in summer, because we had a plan visiting one beach, one island, and one trekking place. But the island was ditched as the beach itself was so superb.

Hmmm… Wondering where we had been??? OK… I will not beat around the bush anymore… let’s get to the point…

We started our journey with 17 people on Friday, 21st march of 2008 around 10:00 PM. The bus looked fine, the driver was also fine, and so we thought that at last this is going to be one awesome trip… But, everything doesn’t come our way, it started to rain, then we came to know that our bus roof is one big leaky roof… within minutes we were all wet… But the journey had to go on… so with all these problems and more grumbling we reached udupi in the morning. As if the bus problem was not enough, there was a hell lot of a problem for accommodation. But in the end we got rooms to stay… By this time our moods were horrible… we were all ready to pounce on everybody… we just wanted to get ready and start moving… we wanted to do something, see a nice place, and also eat something as we were really hungry :(

At last, the fun part… the real trip environment begins… We entered the Malpe beach surroundings… we were all cleanly bowled… It was awesome… what a clean beach… Never in my memory, never, can I remember a beach which looked so good… just felt like going and jumping into the water… Plus an added bonus was the Banana boat and the Jet Ski… Had a lot of, lot of, lot of fun on these rides. If anybody is going to Malpe beach, then one piece of advice – don’t fret. Just go on all the rides that are available. I am telling this because, I was damn scared and thought I would not go on them. I would have missed it, if I had had not gone on them. It was awesome…

So now with our hearts lighter. We called it a day and retired.

Till next day 4’o clock we visited two temples- Annegudda (Ganapathi temple) and Kollur (Devi temple) and we started towards our most anticipated spot “KODACHADRI”.

The best part of the journey was this as our bus got stuck in the mud and it would not move. We had to get down from the bus and push it.

Hmmm Kodachadri at last reached our destination… What an awesome place… It’s picture perfect place. When we visited Kodachadri it was raining lightly and it was covered with mist. Visibility was very less. It’s a painter’s imagination. It was awesome (Sorry but I cant stop using that word) One should really see it to imagine it…

The pictures that you can see in this post, are of kodachadri...

This is me and some of my friendz inside clouds...

We went there by 6'o clock. It was a feast to our eyes. Alas we couldn’t trek as it was raining, otherwise it would have been more fun. It’s actually an 8km trek from the base. If you don’t want to trek then jeep facilities are available. The jeep drivers whom we met were awesome (Ramesh and Prakash) we used 2 jeeps as we were 17 members. There are no roads actually so hold on tight if you are going in a jeep… We saw the place where gaalipata was shot… Nothing is real in Gaalipata everything is made up plaster of Paris, but still the place is simply beautiful.

We just in stayed the travelers Bungalow all evening, we were just enjoying the scenery. Hmm got up in the morning and started our trek upwards to Kalin-Mane and Chitra-Mane. As we all love trekking, we simply enjoyed this. First we went to Kalin-Mane there was one Shankaracharya idol there. It is somewhere around one and half kms from the TB. It is said that he meditated there first and later he installed the Mukambika godess in Kollur. It was the highest point. It was as if we were walking inside clouds… Awesome…

From there we had trek down on the other side to reach Chitra-mane. Usually people stop at trekking at this place but we gals went further. It’s a dangerous path. It is a one kilometer trek from the Kalin-Mane. It was wonderful. There is one Shiva idol there, plus there is one lady there who is sitting there from 30 years. She sits at this place and does puja to the Shiva there everyday. There is one small water fall kind of a thing. It is said that, in all seasons at all times only that mush will be flowing. It was also wonderful. We drank the water there… hmmm it was yummyyyyyyyyy.

The best part of this trek was when we had to climb a ladder to reach the Shiva idol. There was one small ladder there. But one of my friend is very, very afraid to climb a ladder. She was screaming at the top of her voice as she was very scared, at last she was pulled upwards. While getting down she started crying as she was afraid that we were going to leave her there and leave as she did not know how to climb down a ladder. Then with much difficulty and more screaming and crying she climbed down. It was a laugh ramie… we enjoyed it…

As all good things should come to an end our trek came to and end. We trekked back to the TB. And after lunch we even left for Mysore. This was one of our best trips ever. We had a wonderful time despite our hole(y) roofed bus. Even while coming back to Mysore it rained but none of us were that fussed as we had had an awesome (This is the last time I am using awesome ) time.

This is some of the information which is required if you are going to Kodachadri:

Phone number of Kodachadri Bungalow: 08185290368

Best person to get hold of there: Rajendra

Best jeep drivers: Ramesh and Prakash

Necessary Backpackings: Along with your First Aid, its better to have a torch, a waterproof jacket, a thick blanket(very cold up there and if unlucky might not get a blanket up there) and few tobacco leaves or a fresh lime.

Tips: Guides are available at Nittur. If late better hire a guide who will lead you at least up to the jeep road. They will come for less than 200 rupees on bargaining. Tobacco leaves or Lime juice are must if you wanna save your blood :). Places near the falls are usually slippery and very slippery during the rainy season. I felt that a good grip chappals will do better than any shoes and shorts will be better than jeans.

My delayed New Year resolution…

Why am I making a New Year’s resolution now???
Hmmm may be because it is high time I control my anger (By the way that’s my resolution).

I have lost many things this year (Even though it’s been only a month since this year started) because of my anger. And I don’t want that to continue… I want to gain back everything that I have lost. I just hope that I am not too late for anything (Fingers crossed).

I just screamed at my friend today which made me realize that my anger is wild… I might have damaged my friendship today (hopefully not).

My temper’s always been damaging. I never gained anything from my wrath. I have hurt many people, and have been hurt by their reactions. So made up my mind this time, I will control my “ANGER” as much as possible… I have to… otherwise life will only have bumpy rides in store for me… don’t want that now do I???

So here goes my official resolution “I will try to control my anger as much as possible... I will not scream at anybody”. Guides Honour!!!

I just hope that I will be able to fulfill this year’s resolution… Wish me luck…
